I came home after work and cut a fresh head of romaine lettuce from my garden, and made a salad with poached eggs. If you’ve never put poached eggs on top of something green, be advised – they are nature’s salad dressing. This is the first year I’ve grown lettuces in the garden:

All heirloom varieties. Leaf romaine, dark red and light green butter lettuces. And the kale? This will be a summer full of greens.
